Meet our team

Charlotte joined Innovate Awarding in June 2017 as Managing Director and is responsible for setting and implementing the strategic direction. Charlotte is passionate about vocational education and skills.

Her focus is to create a dynamic and fresh approach to assessment whilst maintaining quality and fantastic service.

Charlotte has worked in the exam boards sector since 1996 and has led and driven many qualification and assessment reforms. Charlotte sits on a number of educational boards including being a Governor at an FE College and a Trustee of a secondary school educational trust.  Charlotte enjoys spending time in her garden and eating out at restaurants and trying to replicate her favourite dishes at home. 

Before joining Innovate Awarding in 2019, Alex worked as a Regional Director, Commercial Head of Finance across a diverse range of industries, including automotive, banking and insurance.

Alex has a breadth of experience in growth environments and enjoys working with both clients and staff on process automation & technology. At Innovate Awarding, Alex is responsible for the operational teams, financial systems and processes.

Alex’s role involves financial business analysis to improve operational management and to enable business growth.  

In his spare time Alex has been a volunteer driver at the 2012 Olympics, 2015 Rugby World Cup and 2019 Cricket World Cup.

Andy joined Innovate Awarding in 2016 as Head of Product and Assessment Services and oversees the development and management of assessment products.

Andy’s department includes the Client Relationship team and Development team, managing both the ongoing development and relationship management of Innovate Awarding’s clients, as well as managing Innovate Awarding’s products.

These include Qualifications and End-Point Assessment of apprenticeship standards. Andy has worked in the education sector for over 16 years, working in qualifications development and product management.

In his spare time Andy enjoys cricket and golf. 

Lesley joined Innovate Awarding in 2015, and leads on all activity relating to Compliance, ensuring that all policies, processes and business practice are compliant with Ofqual’s conditions of recognition and those of the three other regulators.

Lesley is also responsible for dealing with instances of malpractice and maladministration plus any complaints that are made to the organisation, and takes a lead on dealing with appeals. She is responsible for ensuring all requests for reasonable adjustments and special considerations are dealt with appropriately.

Lesley started her working life as a nursery nurse and has always worked in either early years or education. Lesley enjoys socialising with family and friends and loves reading a good book to relax.
