The Quality Endorsement Scheme (QES): National Recognition For High-Quality Training

If you're delivering high-quality training that sits outside of regulated qualifications, it can be tough to demonstrate its value. You know your programmes make a real impact, but without external recognition, learners and stakeholders might not see the full picture.

That’s why we created the Quality Endorsement Scheme (QES) — a flexible, supportive way to validate your courses, boost your credibility, and give your learners the recognition they deserve.

What is the QES and why should I use it?

The QES gives you the opportunity to have your training programme externally reviewed and endorsed by a leading awarding organisation. It’s designed for employers and training providers who are proud of their in-house training or non-regulated provision and want to:

  • Demonstrate a commitment to quality
  • Gain a nationally recognised endorsement
  • Offer branded certification to learners
  • Stand out in a competitive market

There are two endorsement levels to choose from:

QES

Includes a review of your quality assurance processes, course content, and learner support, along with access to Innovate Awarding-branded or co-branded e-certificates.

QES+

All the benefits of QES, with added value through annual visits, sampling, and support with assessment development and continuous improvement.

Both options give you access to Innovate Awarding-branded or co-branded e-certificates for your learners, with optional printed versions available.

Add weight to your offer

Whether you’re delivering induction training, CPD, or sector-specific upskilling, the QES gives you the external validation you need to prove your programme meets high standards.

If you're working with employers, learners, or commissioners who want reassurance around quality, an endorsement from Innovate Awarding can give them greater confidence in what you’re delivering.

The scheme also supports national goals to strengthen adult skills and employer-led training—echoing themes from the government’s Skills for Jobs white paper.

How does the QES process work?

We’ve made the process clear and straightforward, whether you’re already working with us or are new to Innovate Awarding.

What you'll need:

  • A course that’s ready for review
  • Evidence of strong internal quality assurance
  • Learner support processes in place

Once you submit your application, we’ll carry out a remote External Quality Assurance (EQA) review, including a scheduled visit. You’ll receive a decision within two working days of your visit.

If you choose QES+, we’ll work with you to agree a bespoke quality assurance plan that reflects your course’s structure and delivery.

You can explore the full process, requirements and fees on our QES webpage.

QES or QES+ – Which Is right for me?

Both levels offer strong external validation, but QES+ goes further with tailored quality assurance and hands-on support for your team.
