This qualification is internally assessed and internally quality assured by Centre staff and externally quality assured by Innovate Awarding External Quality Advisors (EQAs).

Aims and objectives of the qualification

The aim of this qualification is to prepare learners for work. It supports the development of knowledge and skills to enable learners to prepare for work and identify the skills and behaviours required within a professional environment. Learners will gain insight into a range of skills such as how to identify and apply for jobs, how to build working relationships and teamwork, as well as the principles of equality and diversity and their rights and responsibilities once in employment.

Progression opportunities

Learners who achieve this qualification could progress into further education or on into employment. On completion of this course, learners may progress to:

  • IAO Level 2 Certificate in Principles of Business Administration

  • IAO Level 2 Diploma in Business Administration

  • IAO Level 2 Certificate in Principles of Customer Service

  • IAO Level 2 Certificate in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care

  • IAO Level 2 Certificate in IT User Skills (ITQ)
