About the apprenticeship

A Production Co-ordinator may be employed by television, film or radio/audio production companies or VFX or post-production facilities. They may work for a production, or a series of productions, seeing them through from pre-production through to post-production, or through a specific part of the process. They work across all genres in film, television, radio/audio or commercials; they may work in the production office, on set, in a studio or on location, on production or post-production activity.

Assessment methods

Gateway Requirements

To reach Gateway your employer will need to be satisfied that you are consistently working at, or above, the occupational competence of the Level 4 Media Production Co-ordinator Standard. At Gateway you must have achieved Level 2 English and Maths. At Gateway you will submit your portfolio of evidence for review. You will also submit a Project Proposal for the End-Point Assessment which must be approved before you can begin the EPA period.

Production Project

After coming through Gateway you will work on your project which may be based on any phase of a real production as it applies to your option and work context. You will be required to submit a 3,000 word report 12 weeks after Gateway.

Presentation and Questioning

Your 20 minute presentation on your production suggestions will be followed by a further 40 minutes of questioning. This will most likely take place remotely.

Professional Discussion underpinned by a Portfolio of Evidence

The professional discussion will take place with an Innovate Awarding Assessor and will last for two hours. They will ask you a number of questions after reviewing your portfolio of evidence. This will most likely take place remotely.
