About the apprenticeship

The role of Early Years Educator is found in a range of maintained and private, voluntary, and independent settings such as full day care, children's centres, preschools, reception classes, playgroups, nursery schools, home based provision, hospitals, social care settings, out of school environments, and local authority provision.

Assessment methods

Gateway Requirements

At Gateway you must have achieved either a Level 3 Paediatric First Aid or Level 3 Emergency Paediatric First Aid. At Gateway you will submit a portfolio of evidence for review.

Observation with questioning

The observation will take place in your workplace and the Innovate Awarding Assessor will observe you completing your day-to-day duties. The observation will last for 50 minutes after which the Assessor will ask you at least five questions in 30 minutes.

Professional discussion underpinned by a portfolio of evidence

The professional discussion will take place remotely with an Innovate Awarding Assessor and will last for 90 minutes. The Assessor will ask at least 10 questions after reviewing your portfolio of evidence.

Professional Discussion: £350. Observation: £350. On-Demand Test: 1st re-sit free, £50 thereafter.
