Assessment methods

Gateway Requirements

To reach Gateway your employer will need to be satisfied that you are consistently working at, or above, the occupational competence of a Level 3 Content Creator. At Gateway you must have achieved Level 2 English and Maths. At Gateway you will submit your portfolio of evidence in preparation for the professional discussion. You will also need to have identified, with your employer, a pre-Gateway content creation project or campaign that you can use for your EPA evaluative project and presentation.

Evaluative Project Report and Presentation

After coming through Gateway, you will work on your 1,500 word evaluative report. You will also prepare a 15 minute presentation that builds on the report and includes additional content. The report and a copy of the presentation will need to be submitted to us by the end of week four of the EPA period.

Presentation and Questioning

Your 15 minute presentation of your evaluative report will be followed by a further 15 minutes of questions. This will most likely take place online.

Professional Discussion underpinned by your Portfolio

The Professional Discussion will take place with an Innovate Awarding Assessor and will last for 60 minutes. They will ask a number of questions after reviewing your portfolio of evidence. The portfolio itself will not be assessed.

Grading

Each of the two assessments will be graded as Distinction/Pass/Fail. They are weighted equally. If you achieve a pass and a distinction, you will be awarded an overall Merit grade. The last step along the journey will be the receipt of the certificate.

Resit costs

Professional Discussion: £400. Project: £650.
