Apprenticeship assessment FAQs

What is the cost of end-point assessment/apprenticeship assessment with Innovate Awarding?

Our end-point assessment and apprenticeship assessment prices vary programme to programme. You can find a full list of our apprenticeship programmes on our apprenticeship assessment page. There is no up-front registration fee for end-point assessment. We encourage early registration to enable us to prepare for your apprentices. We offer one free re-sit for all multiple-choice tests, all other re-sit costs can be found on our individual apprenticeship programme pages.

Is there a minimum number of apprentices required for Innovate Awarding to assess my apprentices?

No, we do not require a minimum number of apprentices and there is no penalty if apprentice volumes do not align with indicative numbers provided in our signed agreement.

What support materials do Innovate Awarding have to support apprentices with their end-point assessment/apprenticeship assessment?

We have a wide range of support materials available for each apprenticeship. These include assessment specifications, guidance, and mock tests/records. All support materials come at no extra cost and can be accessed through Proficient. The support material varies depending on the requirements of each standard. We offer support materials for training providers, centres and apprentices.

What system do Innovate Awarding use for end-point assessment/apprenticeship assessment?

Innovate Awarding use Proficient as their end-point assessment/apprenticeship assessment tool. Proficient is designed to make the end-point assessment/apprenticeship assessment process straightforward, utilising cutting-edge technology and intuitive design. Developed in conjunction with us and other leading awarding organisations, training providers and employers to ensure an industry-leading system, it streamlines the entire apprenticeship assessment process from apprenticeship registration and assessment scheduling, through to results and certification. The platform increases efficiency and reduces administrative burden by providing on-demand access to resources and materials during the apprenticeship assessment process. It can generate a range of useful reports such as apprentice details, completed gateways, assessment component results and overall certifications. If there is an online test/assessment, how do Innovate Awarding ensure it's invigilated effectively

What is the end-point assessment/apprenticeship assessment planning meeting?

The Planning Meeting is a phone call between the apprentice and one of our representatives. Some apprenticeships require the line manager to attend the call too. The call generally takes around 30 minutes, and its purpose is to schedule the assessment components. This is also an opportunity for the apprentice to ask questions and ensure that everything is clear before the assessments begin.

Will apprentices have the same end-point assessor/apprenticeship assessor throughout their journey?

Yes, the aim is that the same assessor will be responsible for conducting all the assessments for the apprentice, unless circumstances do not allow this.

If an apprentice fails one of their end-point assessment/apprenticeship assessment components, how do they arrange a re-take?

Any re-sits or re-takes are scheduled directly with the End-Point Assessor in line with our guidance.

How do apprentices receive their certificate once they complete their end-point assessment/apprenticeship assessment?

Certificates will be sent by recorded delivery from Skills England to the apprentice’s workplace as identified on Proficient.

How do I become an end-point assessor/apprenticeship assessor with Innovate Awarding?

How will the end-point assessment/apprenticeship assessment be conducted?

Most assessments will be conducted online using Microsoft Teams with your allocated Innovate Awarding End-Point Assessor.

If your End-Point Assessment includes an observation-based component then this will be carried out in your workplace with your allocated Assessor. Your assessments will be booked at you Planning Meeting and the arrangements agreed with you at that stage.

When will end-point assessment/apprenticeship assessment be conducted?

End-Point Assessments will be scheduled following your Gateway with your Training Provider and Employer, at your Planning Meeting with one of our Assessors.

Where the assessment plan allows, we aim to take you from Gateway to Certification within 30 days.

How is grading shared following end-point assessment/apprenticeship assessment?

Your final grade will be communicated to you by your Training Provider.

When should I receive my certificate after I complete my apprenticeship?

If you have not yet received your certificate, there is no need to worry. We submit your record following completion to Skills England, who will then process your completion and send your certificate directly to your workplace.

If you have not received your certificate two (2) months after your assessments, please get in touch and we will look into this for you.

Can I appeal my result for a qualification sat with Innovate Awarding?

We do have an appeals process in place should you not be happy with the result you have received from us. Please do read our Appeals Policy ahead of completing the Appeals form.
